Configuring Outlook 2002

Note: This is a stripped-down copy of a document that originally came from Cabrini College (www.cabrini.edu). Please note the following important changes:

Incoming AND Outgoing server should be "yourdomain.com"
Your username is your FULL EMAIL ADDRESS: "you@yourdomain.com"

Open Outlook 2002

On the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.

Select Add a new e-mail account, and then click Next.

Select IMAP as your e-mail server, and then click Next.

Fill in appropriate fields as shown. NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

Be sure to replace imap.cabrinie.edu and smtp.cabrini.edu with yourdomain.com.
Do not put the "imap." and "smtp." prefixes on Incoming or Outgoing mail server.
For the username, use your email address, all lowercase. Do not use a plus sign (+) as shown in the screenshot.

After you fill in the fields, Click More Settings...

Select the Outgoing Server tab.

Check the box that says SMTP requires authentication.
Put your full email address -- all lowercase -- for the username

Then click the Advanced tab and change the outgoing (SMTP) port to 587 instead of 25.

Click Finish.
